I spent six years of my childhood on a self-sustaining farm in southern Ohio. I first fell in love with wool in it’s most pure form on the lovable sheep that we raised. We sheered the sheep, combed and washed the wool, dyed it with plants and helped my mother spin the wool into yarn. My hands always felt so soft from the lanolin in the wool!
Although I don’t have sheep at either of my studios, I still enjoy knitting as a relaxing way to be creative even when I’m sitting still. With all of the colors and textures of natural and synthetic yarns available today, I find limitless possibilities to design some truly imaginative pieces that are cozy and comfortable.
I make the scarves based on my client’s color preferences in one of my three unique designs:
- “Bright Kisses” a bright colored scarf with an eclectic mix of two to three yarns of complimentary colors. Prices range from 48 dollars and up dependent on material and shipping costs.
- “Warm Hugs” These scarves have a loose and lacy knit with a very lightweight feel. They are packed with sparkle and glitter that looks great in the sun. These scarves have a high mohair content so they are very warm. I use premium yarns imported from Europe. These scarves are generous measuring approximately 9-10 inches wide and 70-72 inches long. Prices range from 52 dollars and up depending on materials and shipping costs.
- “BIG Love” These scarves are real shows stoppers of seven to ten different yarns knitted in wild patterns. With varying colors and lots of fringe, they do NOT look like anything else you’ve ever seen before. The textures and the colors are really incredible and I use every color you can imagine. These scarves make a statement measuring approximately 7-9 inches wide and 70-72 inches long. Price is 85 dollars unless you want a specific color scheme. A specific color may increase the costs depending on materials.
I enjoy making these scarves because I imagine them as hugs that my client’s give to their loved ones. So, come get a hug for yourself and be sure to pass one on, too!
